From Screens to Spaces – UX Design in Spatial Computing

Augmented Reality is everywhere – but what’s really behind the buzz?

AR has seen many new products in recent years, but few have truly succeeded. So, what is the real potential of AR? When is it useful, and what should designers keep in mind?

In this talk, Katja & David from FHNW will give a practical introduction to spatial computing and show how it goes beyond AR to create meaningful, immersive experiences.

Expect real-life examples, lessons learned (including what didn’t work), and guidance on designing for 3D spaces versus 2D screens.

Katja Pott, Research Associate at FHNW, specializes in UX Research/Strategy and Spatial Computing, published internationally, and begins her PhD soon.

David Kern, Research Associate at FHNW, combines UX design and software engineering, leads EU Horizon UX projects, and researches AR in architectural planning.
